Which is a scary thing! I am talking about my oldest daughter K (18). And very scattered brained. I am bad when it comes to remembering short term things. So its a wonder on how I can remember anything when I have to remember it for a short term in order for it to become a long term memory right? My kids favorite uh loss of memory story is this : One time we went to the duck pond, the kids love to go there, have a picnic, feed the ducks, and just hang out. And having 5 kids I am constantly doing a head count. I also have 3 older stepdaughters, so I have been doing this head count thing for a while. So I was tired (notice I am telling the story from my prospective, kids would just say I am crazy lol), and ready to go home. We gather all of our stuff, and make our way back to the car, after saying "stay out of the road", "stay out of the tree" "ok get out of the tree already" a hundred times, you would think we were one a 10 mile hike, it was only about a quarter of a mile walk to our car. I get there search all my pockets and back pack for the keys, and all of the sudden I realize the baby was gone. I yell to my girls "wheres the baby make sure she is not going in the road" and I am looking around. Only to hear D and K laughing and D finally says "Mom, your holding her". I think I finally decided I was officially insane that day. The kids love to laugh and laugh about that story. But on a day to day basis I am constantly losing stuff, I will have it one minute put it down and lose it.
So now we come to K's own story. She had been txting me earlier in the day (first day back from break at college), and was telling me she felt kind of lost cause her classes seemed weird. I told her to double check every thing. So she calls me laughing really hard and says "Mom I am officially the dumbest person on earth! Today is tuesday not monday!". She was doing all her classes by her monday schedule and not her tuesday.
I am happy to say that she also has inherited my sense of humor and ability to laugh at your self, it will definitley come in handy!
