Facebook and the blog

I think I am addicted to Facebook.  When I first heard of it, I went and looked and yes signed up.  And didnt find it to interesting, and after that I didnt go back until about 6 months later, when K told me she had a Facebook account.  And guess what... I didnt remember my password.  But I wasnt to sad, I didnt do much investigating on how to get my password.  A couple of months ago, I decided to try it again because a good friend of mine, who is in the armed forces stationed in North Korea asked me to, she said it was fun and easier for us to communicate on Facebook.  I went and got my password emailed to me and once again ventured into the Facebook thing.  And this time I gave it a little effort.  And wow... I have found a lot of school friends, as well as other newer friends.  And just to have little tidbits in to their life is interesting.

I have been trying to decide on who I should tell about the blog.  I have my friends and family.  I know my family would be interested.  Friends hmmm maybe.  Some times though I wonder if I should just not tell any one.  And just let it be.  I wonder if I will change what I post, LOL not that I am posting any secrets.  I think though I tend to be more uh...reserved around people I know.  I know that in person I am not very out going, I am pretty quiet unless i really know the people then I am loud and out there.

I also know that I do need to post more often.  I get on here, and then start reading other peoples blogs, and I read and read, and live in between reading lol and dont seem to get to my own blog.  So I do plan on posting more, "cross my heart, hope to die, stick a needle in my eye" ouch.... lol

Makes me wonder....

I took my kids to the park today.  I try to do it often.  But sad to say we havent been there in a couple of weeks.  But I am not writing about my parenting inadequacies lol.  I am writing because some people amaze me.
I saw a couple bring their son who was about 2 years old to the park.  Seems nice and sweet huh...awwww nice family outing.  So they get to the play area, and the sweet little very curious boy reaches down and touches the sand.  Normal behavior...  Both parents freak.  The father swoops him up, while the mother starts dusting off his hands telling him "no no".  Uhhh your in a playground with sand, and lots of it.....
Makes me wonder.... lol

Hair Adventures

My kids can talk me into almost anything.  As long as its not dangerous (ok maybe some times its dangerous lol).  My oldest is the pro, of course being 18 she has had many years of practice.  Her favorite thing to talk me into is dealing with her hair.  When she was in 6th grade she convinced me to dye her hair.  We are not talking like black, or a different shade of brown, or any normal hair color.  She wanted blues, and reds, and purples.  My thinking was "ok shes going into middle school and wants to stand out" and also I wanted the same thing, and my mom always said ok and then never did it lol.  So we bleached (her hair is dark brown) about 2 inches on the bottom and the another inch streak around her face (her hair was also long and straight), I guess it could be considered her bang area.  And her first color was a blood red.  It changed on a weekly basis.  It was kind of cool, and she finally tired of it.  Then came the highlights.  And then complete color change, but managing to stay with in normal hair color ranges.  Until she wanted to bleach the whole thing.  I must add, with each change, I made her understand that no matter what happened it was not my fault LOL.  I also must say, she is a really good sport LOL.  I also cut her hair.  We have a good time doing these things together, and we laugh and laugh each time.  D is starting to join in the fun too!
There have been two times that I have found my self almost lying on the floor peeing in my pants laughing, once about 3 years ago, she decided to cut her own bangs cause I told her I didnt have time and she apparently couldnt wait the whole 2 hours I asked her to wait.  It maybe wrong to laugh so hard at your childrens mistakes, but man this was a gut buster (I repeat I am sooo glad she is able to laugh at herself too)
The other time is this morning.  K is very impressionable, and impulsive.  K wants long flowing slightly curling waves in her hair, K is going to get them no matter how many trials its going to take.  Last night she googled "wavy hair" and came up with pin curls using bobby pins.  I kept telling her that it was going to be to curly, it wasnt going to be how she wanted it, but all I heard was "please mom, please help me, please please please".  So with a slight snicker I agreed.  So she showed me how she wanted it done.....twist the hair tightly thing curl the twisted hair and pin it to her head with a bobby pin.  Ok an hour later we were done.  I went to bed, and this morning she asked me to help her take it out.  I was still snickering.  As we were taking the bobby pins out the tightly curled bumps did not move.  She was still in excited mode, expecting wavy like curls, we got them all out and she went to start unraveling.  And I heard "moooooommmmmmm" and she walked in and I couldnt help myself.....I havent laughed that hard in weeks!!!  My mostly straight haired baby was an orphan annie look a like freckles and all LOL.  She stood there and told me "its not even long and flowy"  and I howled.  Yes she let me take a picture but I think she would kill me if I posted it hmmmmmm ....
